JTW Podcast: The Pope vs the President

. . . and the pope is winning?  We have kept more or less quiet about the back-and-forth between Pope Leo XIV and President Trump because 1) As an organization we’re interested in politics and religion only insofar as they affect essential human dignity and the establishment and maintenance of an environment within which consistent with principles of natural law people can become more fully human — “virtuous” — and thereby fit themselves for their proper role and purpose of life, however they define it.

2) As an organization we’re interested in specific religious or political leaders only insofar as they are potential supporters or advocates of the Economic Democracy Act (EDA) which we believe to be the optimal way for most people to have access to the opportunity and means to become more fully human.  In our opinion, the pope seems a much better prospect than the president at this point in time to respect human dignity and promote a viable means for securing it.

That is why we found this political-organizational analysis of the current situation so interesting . . . and why we think Pope Leo XIV might be more open than President Trump to a discussion on the Just Third Way of Economic Personalism:
