News from the Network, Vol. 17, No. 28

With the upcoming U.S. election and the Russian attack on the largest children’s hospital in Ukraine, things are looking a trifle bad for sanity in the world.  Still, while it won’t solve all problems or even most of them, adopting the Economic Democracy Act could be a giant step in the direction of restoring sanity and a world in which children might actually be permitted to live:

Easier to steal existing money

• Money Secrets of the Rich and Vicious.  One of Russia’s oligarch’s has declared his country’s methods of payment should be a state secret because “the west” keeps shutting them down and he and the other chosen people are in danger of not getting all their money.  There is only one problem: given today’s electronic financial system, it is virtually impossible to hide payments.  You can hide who is sending them and who is receiving them, but you cannot hide the fact that the payments are made.  This makes it easy to trace payments and stop them, even if you can’t do anything else.  That is why criminals are so fond of cash and commodities, such as gold: it is much easier to hide the transaction itself.  This is one of the internal controls in the monetary and credit reforms of the Economic Democracy Act.  It is easier to steal money that pre-exists a transaction, but much harder to steal money that is created by the transaction!

• Much Ado About Something.  One of the first things you realize when you learn the truth about money and credit is that most of the experts in Academia and in politics have absolutely no idea about the truth about money and credit.  They think money and credit are a commodity with inherent value.  That is why the experts obsess about “the money supply.”  Thinking of money and credit as a commodity leads to some very strange policy decisions.  Frankly, things could be a lot simpler by understanding the truth about money and credit.  Money is the medium by means of which I exchange what I produce for what you produce and must always represent existing value in possession of the issuer.  Money and credit are derived from production, either existing or future to which a present value can be assigned.  They are not things with inherent value of their own.  This is one of the problems the Economic Democracy Act is designed and intended to resolve.

Must be Putin's idea.

• Still a Few Bugs in the System.  Unable to get proper equipment (it’s far more important for the Russian high command to use their best to remove the threat presented by children’s hospitals and their patients . . . those vicious little beasts might invade Russia and give Putin a cold), members of Russia’s sacrificial legions have been jury-rigging armaments — when they’re not stealing and eating people’s pet dogs and cats, or kidnapping or murdering children — using antique and ill-assorted armaments to get around shortages.  The Russians are also dredging up old World War II weapons, such as bombardment balloons (using hydrogen gas for lift!) in an effort to thwart Ukrainian drones.  Frankly, the situation for Russia is decaying to the point that if Ukraine adopted the Economic Democracy Act, it might be the final blow to Russian morale.

• Russia’s Demographic Nightmare.  “Russia could face a decline of its population by more than 10 percent over the next two decades, according to figures released by its Federal State Statistics Service.”  Of course, a large part of the problem is the projected decline of 15 million is due directly to the fact a million or more people have fled Russia to avoid Putin’s dictatorship, and approximately 2% of men in a key demographic are now dead or disabled after two and a half years of Putin’s “Special Military Operation.”  Dead men are not able to become husbands and fathers, while disabled men are less likely to become either.  Even Putin is becoming concerned and urging women to stay at home and have more children for him to slaughter and is considering outlawing abortion.  Now, we’re all in favor of ending abortion, but simply making it illegal is not likely to be effective.  You have to persuade people that it is wrong, not just order them to have children . . . for you to turn into slave soldiers to carry out your plan of world domination.  What’s the solution?  First, get rid of Putin.  Second, adopt the Economic Democracy Act.

• Will the Dow Drop by a Third in 2025?  Even though the stock market is currently soaring like an eagle, BCA Research says it will drop like a turkey by 32% in 2025.  Will it?  If they really knew, people could make gigantic fortunes short selling . . . and hoping their money was worth something by the time the “correction” settled down.  Of course, a shift to genuine investment from speculation and gambling as in the Economic Democracy Act would render this moot, as stock market prices would be closer to the real value of shares, but until then, just roll the dice and you’ll probably get close enough.

But at least he's getting rich(er)!

• Russia’s Economy is HOT!  Yeah, baby — over the past fifteen months a dozen of the richest people in Russia have received over $11 billion in dividends!!  Of course, none of that trickles down to the ordinary Russian boob in the street or in the military.  Many of the latter have to buy their own equipment and even ammunition, so why are the oligarchs raking in such huge amounts at a time when Russia can’t even pay the promised amounts to wounded soldiers and the families of dead soldiers.  This would be a moot point under the Economic Democracy Act.

But at least the economy isn't so hot!

• Powell Says U.S. Economy NOT Overheated!  Once again Jerome Powell has made a prediction about the U.S. economy that shows he has no idea what is going on in front of his nose.  This time he says the economy is not overheated . . . whatever that is supposed to mean.  Of course, if Say’s Law of Markets was in operation, the heat or coolness of the economy would be moot.  All production would be for consumption, not for reinvestment or to make some people filthy rich so they can invest to make more money and “create jobs” for a few people.  If we adopted the Economic Democracy Act, the economic temperature wouldn’t matter a bit . . . which might upset the experts and politicians as they’d be out of their jobs.

• You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two.  Estimates have been made that if Russia pays what it owes to wounded and dead soldiers and their families it would cost in the exclusive neighborhood of $26 billion.  This amounts to 6% of the entire Russian government annual budget.  It is unclear if any of the payments have been made, especially because many soldiers have to buy their own equipment and ammunition.  The situation is made worse by the fact that Russia is currently losing more than 1,000 troops a day . . . and Russia wastes its best weapons attacking children’s hospitals.  Evidently Russia is funding its attacks on children by depriving its own soldiers of equipment, pay, and benefits.

• Greater Reset “Book Trailers”.  We have produced two ninety-second “Book Trailers” for distribution (by whoever wants to distribute them), essentially minute and a half commercials for The Greater Reset.  There are two versions of the videos, one for “general audiences” and the other for “Catholic audiences”.  Take your pick.

• The Greater Reset.  CESJ’s book by members of CESJ’s core group, The Greater Reset: Reclaiming Personal Sovereignty Under Natural Law is, of course, available from the publisher, TAN Books, an imprint of Saint Benedict Press, and has already gotten a top review on that website.  It can also be obtained from Barnes and Noble, as well as Amazon, or by special order from your local “bricks and mortar” bookstore.  The Greater Reset is the only book of which we’re aware on “the Great Reset” that presents an alternative instead of simply warning of the dangers inherent in a proposal that is contrary to natural law.  It describes reality, rather than a Keynesian fantasy world.  Please note that The Greater Reset is NOT a CESJ publication as such, and enquiries about quantity discounts and wholesale orders for resale must be sent to the publisher, Saint Benedict Press, NOT to CESJ.

Economic Personalism Landing Page.  A landing page for CESJ’s latest publication, Economic Personalism: Property, Power and Justice for Every Person, has been created and can be accessed by clicking on this link.  Everyone is encouraged to visit the page and send the link out to their networks.

Economic Personalism.  When you purchase a copy of Economic Personalism: Property, Power and Justice for Every Person, be sure you post a review after you’ve read it.  It is available on both Amazon and Barnes and Noble at the cover price of $10 per copy.  You can also download the free copy in .pdf available from the CESJ website.  If you’d like to order in bulk (i.e., ten or more copies) at the wholesale price, send an email to publications@cesj.org for details.  CESJ members get a $2 rebate per copy on submission of proof of purchase.  Wholesale case lots of 52 copies are available at $350, plus shipping (whole case lots ONLY).  Prices are in U.S. dollars.

• Sensus Fidelium Videos, Update.  CESJ’s series of videos for Sensus Fidelium are doing very well, with over 155,000 total views.  The latest Sensus Fidelium video is “The Five Levers of Change.”  The video is part of the series on the book, Economic Personalism.  The latest completed series on “the Great Reset” can be found on the “Playlist” for the series.  The previous series of sixteen videos on socialism is available by clicking on the link: “Socialism, Modernism, and the New Age,” along with some book reviews and other selected topics.  For “interfaith” presentations to a Catholic audience they’ve proved to be popular, edging up to 150,000 views to date.  They aren’t really “Just Third Way videos,” but they do incorporate a Just Third Way perspective.  You can access the playlist for the entire series.  The point of the videos is to explain how socialism and socialist assumptions got such a stranglehold on the understanding of the role of the State and thus the interpretation of Catholic social teaching, and even the way non-Catholics and even non-Christians understand the roles of Church, State, and Family, and the human persons place in society.

Those are the happenings for this week, at least those that we know about.  If you have an accomplishment that you think should be listed, send us a note about it at mgreaney [at] cesj [dot] org, and well see that it gets into the next “issue.”  Due to imprudent and intemperate language on the part of some commentators, we removed temptation and disabled comments.
