This past week has been a series of
new initiatives and follow up on CESJ’s participation in the World Meeting of
Families in Philadelphia last week.
Despite the despair shown by the usual pundits and media gurus, there is
a great deal to hope for, and signs that people in key places are starting to
look seriously at the Just Third Way:

| CESJ at the World Meeting of Families |
• The CESJ monthly Executive Committee meeting was this past
Monday, September 28, 2015. There was a
good showing of attendees as CESJ ran a test of its new meeting software. Callers from as far away as Guatemala found
the sound quality to be much better than with the previous system.
• The new
website for the Unite America Party has been launched. While there is no organizational affiliation
with CESJ, the platform of the Unite America Party embodies Just Third Way
principles and can be adopted by any politician or party without formally associating
with the Unite America Party.
• The article based on the blog series on the Greek debt
crisis is being reviewed and is scheduled for publication in the journal of the
Polish National Bank in the near future.
• CESJ volunteers and Fellows are putting together a funding
proposal to develop classes that can be taught over the internet as a way of
launching the Justice University concept.
• Another funding proposal is being put together to raise
money for translating key articles and other publications into Spanish and other
languages.

• CESJ has been getting excellent results with its Twitter
campaign. We now have over 800 followers
for CESJ and 1,100 for Own or Be Owned.
We have established some great credibility on Twitter, and are being
recognized. CESJ is aimed at more
“conservative” followers, while the Own or Be Owned seems to attract a more
“radical” audience, a broad spectrum of people.
Note that the terms “conservative” and “radical” are relative;
conservatives tend to think the Just Third Way is radical, while radicals tend
to think the Just Third Way is conservative.
• Dan Parker in Canada has updated his Global Justice Movement website. Dan uses a great deal of material from the
CESJ website.
• Joe Recinos
sent a package of material to Sergio Alejandro Garcia de Alba Zepeda, a former foreign minister of Mexico
under the Vicente Fox government who may be open to Just Third Way ideas.
• We heard (hearsay, not evidence) that "Pope Francis and the Just Third Way" published this past June in Homiletic and Pastoral Review, may have been circulated in the Curia, and possibly translated into Italian (unauthorized, but we're not complaining). The Spanish version (authorized translation) by Dr. María Teresa Rosón de Pérez Lozano, Professor of Commercial Law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires (where Pope Francis was Grand Chancellor before his election) has achieved wide circulation in North and South America and in Europe. We are looking at a possible French translation as soon as we can surface some funding. (N.B. — if you read an "unauthorized translation," just be aware that a number of terms and concepts may not be adequately or accurately translated. The Just Third Way has concepts and terms that may require experts familiar with the language and the subject. If something sounds weird, ask us for clarification.)

• A connection with the National Defense University has been
reestablished. The original connection
was broken as a result of various reorganizations and personnel changes, and it
fell through the cracks.

• Michael D. Greaney, CESJ Director of Research, is
currently visiting the University of Notre Dame. During his brief stay, he hopes to have a
series of meetings arranged by CESJ Counselor, Father Edward Krause, C.S.C.,
Ph.D., former professor of social ethics at Gannon University.
• As of this morning, we have had
visitors from 47 different countries and 53 states and provinces in the United
States and Canada to this blog over the past two months. Most visitors are from
the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, India, and the Philippines. The
most popular postings this past week were “Halloween Horror Special XIII: Mean
Green Mother from Outer Space,” “The Purpose of Production,” “Thomas Hobbes on
Private Property,” “News from the Network, Vol. 8, No. 39,” and “World Meeting
of Families, I: First Day Report.”
Those are the happenings for this week, at least those that
